How to Search Cases by Name
Search ARCourts is where a Pike County docket search should begin. The landing screen opens on Participants. Type accurate names first. Then narrow to Pike County and the right court once those controls appear. One caution: a name match alone proves little. The service spans participating courts across Arkansas.
- Open Search ARCourts and begin on the participant form.
- Enter the first and last name. Add a middle name only when it helps separate likely matches.
- For a business or a descriptive civil matter, try Organization or Case Description.
- Narrow by Pike County, court, or case type when those controls appear.
- Open a likely result and compare the case number, court, type, filing date, status, and party role.
The official screen, dated August 2026, does not say which participant fields are required. It is dynamic, so more filters can appear after you type or move through it. A blank field is not optional just because the first screen lets you click into it.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Options or format |
|---|---|---|---|
| First Name | Text | Unspecified | Participant given name |

| Last Name | Text | Unspecified | Participant surname |
| Organization or Case Description | Text | Unspecified | Business, organization, or descriptive case text |
| Search by | Selector or navigation | Unspecified | Landing page opens on Participants |
Pike County Case Lookup Path
Know the court before trusting a result. Pike County Circuit Court is part of the Ninth West Judicial Circuit. It handles felony, general civil, domestic-relations, probate, and juvenile matters. The 36th Judicial District Court's Pike County/Murfreesboro Department takes limited-jurisdiction criminal, traffic, civil, and small-claims cases. Murfreesboro and Glenwood matters flow into that department, not into separate city search sites.
The statewide discovery tool can surface public Pike County court records from both levels. Each file still has its own clerk. Search ARCourts is for reading. Arkansas Judiciary eFiling is the authorized filing workflow, not the public docket search. An accepted electronic filing can create a public case event. Its document image can still stay offline.
Follow up with the court name, not just the county label. A felony result points to the Circuit Clerk. Traffic or small claims point to the district clerk. That one distinction prevents many failed Pike County case lookup requests.
How to Search by Case Number
A case number is the sharpest way to narrow a Pike County case search. It belongs to exactly one court matter. Copy it exactly from a summons, citation, notice, order, or clerk receipt. Then check that the court and case type returned actually match the source document.
Pike County publishes no verified case-number pattern or prefix guide. Treat any invented sample like YYYY-XX-##### as fake, not as local format. The honest description is this: a court-assigned identifier may hold a year, a type element, a sequence, or another code. Only the characters on the official record count.
When punctuation or spacing returns nothing, keep the full number intact. Ask the clerk how the search expects it. Older files may sit in legacy formats or outside online coverage. Search ARCourts does not publish a Pike County coverage start date.
Pike County Case Lookup Failures
A no-result screen does not mean no case exists. The name may be misspelled. A filter may aim at the wrong court. The file may predate online coverage, or the matter may be sealed or confidential. Start with a small set of accurate fields, then confirm whether the case belongs to Circuit Court or District Court.
No Match? Retry the spelling and court level, then call the correct Pike County clerk with the case number or as much case detail as the record allows.
For a Circuit Court file, call 870-285-2231. For District Court traffic, misdemeanor, civil, or small-claims matters, call 870-451-4602. Ask the clerk to check an office index, bound docket, microfilm, or archived file. Portal absence can also reflect lawful restrictions. So ask whether the obstacle is confidentiality, a sealing order, archive status, portal coverage, or a missing search input.
Safari users may need to allow pop-ups before a linked document opens. Search ARCourts links to browser help. The Arkansas Judiciary also warns that it sends no unsolicited text messages. So skip any surprise text link claiming to be a case-search notice.
What a Case Search Shows
A Pike County case result can include a public summary plus a chronological list of events. Exact fields depend on the case and the access rules that apply. This inventory comes from official statewide interface documentation, since no private Pike County case was opened to build a sample.
| Case number | The court-assigned identifier used to separate similar names. |
|---|---|
| Court and division | The court level and functional division that own the matter. |
| Case style or parties | The formal caption and participant roles where public. |
| Case type and filed date | The matter category and date the court file began. |
| Status | An open, closed, disposed, or other available case state. |
| Events | A chronological index of filings, orders, hearings, and outcomes. |
| Scheduled events | Public future settings, subject to later continuance or cancellation. |
| Disposition and finances | Outcome and public financial entries when the system makes them available. |
| Document links | Filed images only where electronic public access is permitted. |
A case event is not always the document itself. If the docket lists a filed order but no image opens, request that named order from the clerk who keeps the file. Certified copies come from the clerk too, never from a browser printout.
Pike County Case Lookup Terms
The Arkansas portal says "case information" and "case events." Other Judiciary material says "cases and dockets." Knowing the parts of a result keeps a filing from being mistaken for an outcome.
- Case information
- The public summary of a court matter in Search ARCourts.
- Case event
- A dated index entry showing that a filing, hearing, order, or other action occurred.
- Case style
- The formal names and roles in the case caption.
- Disposition
- The way a claim, charge, or case concluded.
- Certified copy
- A clerk-authenticated record, unlike an informational portal printout.
Terms have limits. A charge is an allegation, not a conviction. A continuance moves a setting without dismissing the matter. A motion asks the judge to act; an order records the court's direction or ruling.
County vs Statewide Case Search
Pike County runs no separate case-search portal of its own. Search ARCourts is the statewide public entry point. It is the online Pike County route at once. So the real comparison is between the statewide web index and the local custodian's case file. It is not a contest between two rival databases.
| Search ARCourts | Pike County custodian |
|---|---|
| Public case information from participating courts | The court's own file and office index |
| Useful for names, case identity, events, and settings | Useful for a named filing, older matter, or missing online item |
| Not a certified record | Source for an authenticated copy when available |
| May omit document images and restricted cases | Applies court orders, statutes, and access rules to requests |
The Circuit Clerk holds the Circuit Court files. District Court files sit with the district clerk. Ask each office only for its own dockets, a district traffic ticket or small-claims case will not be in the Circuit Clerk's court records, and neither clerk will run an unlimited statewide search.
Pike County Case Lookup Channels
Search ARCourts is only the first door. Circuit records also live with the Pike County Circuit Clerk, Sabrina Williams. Write to P.O. Box 219, Murfreesboro, AR 71958. Call 870-285-2231, fax 870-285-3281, or email Sabrina.Williams@PikeCountyAR.org. Before visiting 1 Courthouse Square in person, check with the office, since hours, ID rules, payment forms, terminal access, and copy cutoffs are not published.
A mailed request should name the court, the case number, case style, document title, and filing date if known. Say whether you want a plain or certified copy, include a return address, and give a phone or email so staff can quote a fee. Pike County posts no local form, fee schedule, processing time, or payment-method list. Ask first. Never send money or sensitive details by email or fax without checking.
District cases run through a different channel. For the Pike County/Murfreesboro Department, call 870-451-4602. Ask whether the counter or a public terminal shows more case detail. For an old or non-online file, have staff check the office's archive tools. These phone, counter, mail, email, fax, and archive routes finish the Pike County case lookup chain whenever Search ARCourts stops short.
Pike County Case Lookup Limits
A public docket is an index for information. It is not legal notice and not a certified case file. Arkansas Supreme Court Administrative Order No. 19 sets the rules for access to court records. It also covers remote electronic limits. Administrative Order No. 21 covers electronic filing. Even so, eFiling a document does not make its image public. The Arkansas Freedom of Information Act reaches agency records; it is not a way around a sealed court case.
The portal can list a docket event yet withhold its image. Its landing screen posts no Pike County refresh interval or fee. It posts no account rule, result cap, export option, or maintenance window. Confirm anything that affects a hearing or filing with the clerk who holds the case. The Arkansas Judiciary Build Initiative page lays out a statewide plan. It targets a new case-management system.
That plan covers search and scheduling work in development statewide. It does not prove Pike County has moved to a new local platform.
Pike County Case Search Transition
Search ARCourts went live in January 2024. The Administrative Office of the Courts built it to replace Public CourtConnect. The older service supported searches by person or business. It also covered case type, judgments, filing date, and docket filing date. Today the online-services directory points public users straight to Search ARCourts.
This history matters if an old bookmark, instruction sheet, or saved search still says CourtConnect. Treat that screen as retired. Use the current portal, and trust the labels the official interface actually shows, since search fields and controls can change. The transition improved statewide discovery. It did not make every Pike County filing viewable from home.
Pike County Case Event Checks
Read the event list in time order. Not every docket entry means the same thing. A filed notice, a motion, an order, a hearing, and a disposition each carry their own meaning. The entry date marks when the clerk recorded an event. The scheduled date marks when a hearing is set. A later continuance can leave the old setting sitting in the history.
Compare the newest event against any paper served or filed in the case. If two settings conflict, call the clerk for the court named on the result. The Pike County Court Dates resource gives separate confirmation paths for Circuit and District Court.
Restricted Cases and Access Rules
Juvenile, adoption, sealed, and other confidential matters may be missing from a Pike County case lookup. Some appear only in part. Protected identifiers can be redacted while the rest of a court record stays public. Arkansas Code § 9-27-309 covers juvenile confidentiality, and Arkansas Code § 16-90-1401 et seq. governs criminal-record sealing.
Sealing does not lift through a broad name search or a Freedom of Information Act request. If access is denied, ask the clerk why. The reason may be a sealing order, confidentiality law, portal limit, archive status, or missing search detail. Then ask what lawful court process applies. Clerk staff can explain procedure, but they cannot grant access the law or an order bars.
Use results to track your own case. Use them to confirm a public event or understand a filing sequence. Verify anything consequential with the originating court. That step matters most when a result is old, incomplete, or missing a linked document.
Pike County Case Record Requests
Once a Pike County case lookup points you to the right file, ask for the exact item by name. "Case information," "case events," "filed order," "judgment," and "certified copy" are different products. The clerk needs to know which one you mean. Give the document title and its filing date. That detail separates a public docket entry from the paper record behind it.
Pike County posts no copy fee schedule and no request form. Ask the office for a current quote. Confirm which delivery and payment methods it accepts. Search ARCourts cannot authenticate a certified copy; only the clerk's office can.
